Cancer is a life threatening disease. It takes away our loved one’s from us, within a span of a few months. Today, in every country and in each household there is one person living with this disease. While some people survive after falling prey to the clutches of cancer, but most of them lose their lives. The irony is, before we can catch hold of the disease, the disease holds us. Grapefruit: Eating grapefruits increase the amount of Vitamin C in the body. Cancer cells are formed inside the body due to the presence of nitrogen compounds, which is produced due to the deficiency of Vitamin C. By having grapefruit, one can reduce the risk of having breast, bladder and stomach cancer.
Peanut Butter: Peanut Butter contains Vitamin E. You can have this either with bread during breakfast or with a whole grain toast at any time of the day.
Berries: Three types of berries are helpful in preventing cancer. They are cranberries, blueberries and Raspberries. These fruits contain an antioxidant known as pterostilbene, which fights against all the cancer producing cells in the body.
Sweet Potatoes: People, suffering from lung and stomach cancers are advised to consume sweet potatoes by doctors. They contain a very powerful antioxidant known as Beta carotene that helps to combat against cancer. Women suffering from breast cancer are also advised to have sweet potatoes.
Ground Flax seed: Ground flax seed contains omega-3 fatty acids, which prevents the growth of a tumor inside the body. Moreover, cellular mutations also get reduced to a large extent by consuming ground flax seed.
Turmeric: Most of us, do not know that turmeric actually helps to reduce cancer. It contains an ingredient known as curcumin that acts as an anti-inflammatory agent. Tests were carried on laboratory animals; it was seen that turmeric can help to prevent breast, stomach and lung cancer.
Green Tea: Most of us have green tea to bid adieu to the signs of aging and retain the youthful look, but green tea also helps to lower the risk of having pancreatic and rectal cancers. It contains catechins that help to stop the growth of cancer cells in a person’s body.
