4 Ways on How to Prevent Skin Cancer

It’s nearly summer and it is the time of the year when you go out and sunbathe on the beach. It can be one of the most relaxing experience but it can also be painful afterward. One of the most common health conditions most people get on a beach is having a sunburn. Although a sun tan can look great on you, it can cause skin cancer if you do it for a long time. One of the most common causes of skin cancer is due to excess exposure to the sun.

Here are four easy ways you can prevent skin cancer:

Always stay in the shade during clear and hot days. Whenever possible, try to avoid staying in the sun for more than 10 minutes. In some countries like Australia, it can take you only four minutes to cause a sun burn on you.
Wear a hat. Try to avoid wearing baseball caps because they only give shade to your forehead. The most common area to get burnt is around the neck and face. Try to use wide and long hats that gives shade to shoulder and face.
Wear sunscreen lotion on your body. Make sure all of your exposed body is covered with sunscreen lotion. Most people tend to forget to cover the ears with sunscreen. If you are swimming, use waterproof sunscreen.
Cover up your skin with clothes. Instead of wearing short skirts or tank tops, wear long sleeve shirts and pants to cover up your skin.
