Sun Tanning May Cause Skin Cancer and Increase the Rate of Aging – What You Must Do to Avoid This?

Every year, the sun has increased its level of causing damage to people with the UV rays that the sun emits as the ozone layer is depleting. Short exposure to the heat of the sun is sufficient to cause premature aging. Summer or otherwise, unprotected sun tanning is not advisable for it increases the chances of experiencing the effects and signs of premature aging. If ignored, unprotected sun tanning for a long time may lead to skin cancer. Such common signs of overexposure to sun are:

1. The presence of uneven skin tone and dark spots–Areas of the skin that are exposed to the UV rays are damaged. Skin problem such as pigmentation is among its consequences.
2. The appearance of premature skin wrinkles and fine lines–Even a short exposure to the sun can cause aging lines on the skin especially on the face and arms.
3. Big pores–Besides environmental pollution, even the heat of the sun can cause the skin to enlarge, rendering them open.
4. Sagging of the skin–Besides a natural sign of aging, this is another premature skin problem as the UV rays of the sun deplete the nutrients in the skin, diminishing its flexibility.

So, considering these premises, how do you protect yourself from the rage of the sun? Scientists found solution to skin problems especially when the problem is as serious as skin cancer. The birth of SPF solution is a wonderful discovery as people now can endure the scorching heat of the sun especially those who are sun-tanning enthusiasts. However, despite the application of SPF solution-enriched products, people still experience skin problems. Why? Scientists revealed the problem; the amount of SPF solution should vary according to the heat of the sun and the duration of having sun tanning.

It is important to re-apply the solution consistently every 4 hours or less (depending on sun’s heat intensity) onto the skin. Moreover, SPF should not be applied when there is no sun or when not on sun-tanning session. Finally, the best protection that you can give yourself is by eating fresh fruits and vegetables especially those that are rich in vitamins.
